Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central licence is available, for two different users – Essentials and Premium. Both of these types affect the functional scope of the ERP system. Team Members is an additional variant on offer which has got some limited functionalities.
The above-mentioned Essentials licence includes the following features: finance, sales, CRM, project, purchase, warehouse, and human resources management. Yet, Premium – apart from the above-listed features includes also service and production.

The perpetual licence – as the name suggests – grants to use of a licence without any time limitations. That is why the choice of this option is highly recommended in various situations and cases. First of all, when an enterprise can bear higher costs at the first stage of realizing the investment and then, it can manage its infrastructure. Secondly, when software is run locally.
With a subscription licence, you are entitled to use the software throughout the whole period of a recurring payment. It is crucial to mention that this licensing option is related to lower initial costs and is distinguished by the flexibility within increasing/decreasing the number of licences in a particular period. It is recommended when an enterprise wants to incur an obligation to maintain a cloud infrastructure model and when its management is taken over by an implementation partner (or when the software is introduced locally). However, it is worth keeping in mind that this situation is possible only when an implementation partner provides support, assistance and responsibility for the system.

The system works as Software as a Service. The whole basic infrastructure and middleware are hosted in the Microsoft Azure data centre. It manages the system and provides availability and security of the application and data.
This approach enables you to begin your work fast and at the same time to minimise the initial cost. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central on-cloud is only available as a monthly subscription which can be purchased from Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) which is a partner network.
The cloud service model (so-called SaaS) is recommended for small and medium-sized companies for which ERP systems are too costly or for which they are unaffordable.
Microsoft Azure can bring down costs related to, for example, the employment of IT specialists whose responsibility would be to operate the system; service, and the necessity to scale resources.

Dynamics 365 Business Central is distinguished by by a wide range of capabilities that can be used both on mobile and desktop devices. It is quite often likely that competitive software has limited functionality on some devices. However, with Dynamics 365 Business Central the situation is just the opposite – no matter which device you use, you always have access to the same functions and tools.
